Hot Off the Wine Press – fresh as a daisy, crisp and clean

We have just taken delivery of a truck-load – literally – of great wines from passionate wine-maker Dario Bergaglio in the tiny mountain village of Gavi in Piedmont. His beautiful Gavi, made from 100% Cortese grapes, is the epitome of a clean, elegant and fresh white wine. It’s great on its own as an aperitif or with chicken and cheese dishes. It’s yours for €252 per case, with free delivery in Ireland.

His Ciaparin, 100% unoaked Chardonnay, has a very attractive mineral character, like the wine has been trickled over ancient granite boulders on its way to the bottling line. A fantastic aperitif and partner to any light lunchtime dish. A case is yours for €240 all-in.

Dario’s Gavi Gropella is a rarity, Cortese grapes from the oldest vines on the estate have been treated to a hint of oak and deliver bigger, fuller, richer flavours in a wine that will partner any white meat dish and it goes brilliantly with soft cheeses too. €300 per case of 12 bottles.

His Spumante is made by the metodo tradizionale, the same way they do things in Champagne. It’s an elegant, fine and rich sparkling wine, and a real alternative to Champagne. €420 per case of 12.
